RoadDog sends SMS notifications to pet owners about emergency events affecting their pet's account. This page describes what messages you may receive, how you consent to them, and how to opt out at any time.
When you create a RoadDog account and register your pet's Smart Tag, you may receive SMS notifications for any of the following events:
We do not send promotional, marketing, or unsolicited messages. SMS is used only for transactional and emergency notifications related to your account.
You consent to SMS notifications by checking the SMS opt-in box when you create your RoadDog account on the signup form (road.dog/signup). The consent checkbox is opt-in only — it is not pre-checked, and your account is created whether or not you check it.
By opting in, you agree to receive SMS messages at the phone number on file. Standard message and data rates may apply.
Examples of the kinds of messages you may receive:

You can opt out of RoadDog SMS notifications at any time by:
If you opt out, you will receive a confirmation message and no further SMS notifications will be sent. You will continue to receive email alerts unless you also turn those off in settings. You can resubscribe at any time by replying START to our number, or by re-enabling SMS in your account settings.
Reply HELP or INFO to any RoadDog message to receive contact information. You can also email us at support@road.dog.
Message frequency is event-driven. Most accounts receive zero to a few messages per month. During an active emergency (e.g., your pet is marked Lost and is detected by the network), you may receive multiple messages in a short time window. Message and data rates may apply per your mobile carrier's plan; RoadDog does not charge for SMS.
RoadDog will never share, sell, or rent your phone number. SMS notifications are sent only to the number you registered, only for the events listed above, and only when you have opted in. See our Privacy Policy for more.
Wireless carriers (e.g., AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
